Professional Driving License in Cyprus

According to the new convention of the European Union, all holders of driving licenses of categories C-Truck and D-Bus must hold a professional driving license. To do so, individuals must take a written exam and a practical test. We prepare you for both through the appropriate seminars and lectures.


Truck driving license: 21+ years old

Bus driving license: 24+ years old

Category C1: Vehicles weighting between 3500-7500 kg (except those of Category D-Buses)

Age: 18+ years old

Category C: Vehicles weighting more than 3500 kg (except those of Category D-Buses)

Truck Driving License in Cyprus

According to the law, the Road Transport Department grants a professional license to individuals who want to practice the profession of a truck driver with a permissible gross weight equal to or more than 7,5 tons.



Age: 21-69 years old

The professional truck driver’s license is granted if the interested party:

  • holds a valid driver’s license for a motor vehicle in the truck category
  • has not been deprived by a Court of the right to obtain a professional license as evidenced by a relevant certificate issued by the Chief of Police
  • has the physical ability to drive, as shown by a relevant medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner or a medical certificate issued by a government medical board in case the individual has reached the age of 60 years
  • holds a Certificate of Professional Competence, which is obtained after a written examination
